Overview

A specialized Odoo solution was developed for an electric-bike business to connect vehicle inventory, purchasing, customer invoicing and government-registration workflows inside the ERP.

The core custom module, pak_dealer_easy_mvrs, transformed standard Odoo inventory and sales workflows into a vehicle-specific dealer-management system.

Challenge

Traditional Odoo products are managed primarily through SKUs and quantities. Electric bikes and vehicles require individual unit-level identification and significantly more information.

Each vehicle may require:

• Chassis number
• Engine or motor number
• Vehicle specifications
• Individual registration status
• Customer CNIC
• PDI information
• Number plate tracking
• Authority documentation
• Warranty information
• Customer handover records

Handling these activities outside ERP results in duplicate records and poor traceability.

Solution

A vehicle lifecycle was built directly into Odoo connecting:

Purchase → Stock Intake → Vehicle Identification → Sale → Invoice → Registration → PDI → Number Plate → Customer Handover

Vehicle Master Record

Each physical vehicle can maintain its own identity.

Information includes:

• Automatic Vehicle UID
• Chassis number
• Motor/engine number
• Product
• Model
• Vehicle specifications
• Customer association
• Registration status
• Handover status

Purchase & Stock Intake Integration

Vehicles entering through purchasing and inventory can be converted into individually traceable units.

This connects incoming stock with later registration and customer-sale records.

Automated Vehicle UID

A unique vehicle identifier is generated for individual units, providing a consistent reference throughout the complete operational lifecycle.

Customer & CNIC Management

Vehicle transactions were extended with customer-identification requirements.

Capabilities include:

Product & Pricing Automation

Vehicle information is linked with Odoo product records so relevant product and price information can automatically populate downstream transactions.

Vehicle Information on Invoice

Customer invoice documents were customized to include vehicle-specific information alongside normal commercial data.

This allows the invoice to function as both a financial document and a vehicle-sale reference.

Pre-Delivery Inspection

PDI functionality records the inspection performed before vehicle delivery.

The workflow supports:

Business Impact

The solution converted Odoo from a standard inventory/accounting ERP into an EV dealer operations system capable of tracking every bike from stock arrival through final customer registration and delivery.
